Hand, foot and mouth disease is an infection with a virus called Coxsackie. And there’s been quite a lot around this year in Australia.
You get pustules on your hands, you can get them on your feet and you can get them inside your mouth and it can be very hard to eat, and it can be very, very uncomfortable, particularly when it’s a baby who gets it. But adults can get it too. There’s no specific treatment for it.
You’ve just gotta be able to maintain fluids until it starts to pass away, which it can start to die away after a few days, but some people can be affected for really quite long time.
