Bullying can be physical or psychological. It can leave you feeling humiliated, demeaned, or threatened. It can occur anywhere, at home, when you’re out or at school.
It’s important to look bullies in the eye and tell them to leave you alone. You can walk away, too, and tell an adult or teacher. Bullying can also occur online or in the workplace. If this happens, ask for the behaviour to stop or get a neutral person to mediate. Your workplace should have a policy to deal with this sort of thing. You may choose to file a report and start a formal investigation.
A lot of bullying can be prevented if schools and workplaces have clear policies and rules and provide training to staff and teachers. Establishing a culture of acceptance, respect, and inclusiveness is key.
