What is ProVen used for?

ProVen may be used for the temporary relief of pain and discomfort resulting from headaches, teething, earache, and muscle sprains. ProVen reduces fever and relieves the discomfort of colds and flu symptoms. ProVen may be used to reduce fever after childhood vaccinations.

Do not give ProVen suspension if:

The child is less than 6 months old
The child is less than 12 months old unless your doctor recommends it
The child has diarrhoea or is vomiting
The child has a stomach ulcer or other stomach disorders
The child has an allergy to ibuprofen, aspirin or similar medicines or hydroxybenzoate preservatives.
The child has diabetes
The child has kidney disease (unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist prior to giving to the child)
The child has heart failure

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before giving ProVen if:

The child suffers from asthma, epilepsy or allergies
The child has liver disease
The child has heart, blood, bowel or intestinal problems
The child is already taking other medicines

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have asthma. Do not use in the presence of a stomach ulcer or other stomach disorders, impaired kidney function or heart failure. ProVen should not be used by patients who are pregnant or are taking anticoagulant medication, medication for high blood pressure, diuretics, lithium or methotrexate or other anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not take if you are allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
