About Dr Iris Lim
Dr. Iris Lim is a researcher with a specialised focus on the physiology and pharmacology of the lower urinary tract, particularly the ureter and urethra. Her research aims to uncover novel therapeutic targets that could improve the passing of kidney stones, reducing pain, and addressing the challenges associated with current pharmacological treatments, which often have limited efficacy and adverse effects. Additionally, Dr. Lim's work extends to understanding and developing better treatments for stress urinary incontinence.
Beyond the lab, Dr. Lim is passionate about education research, particularly in applying evidence-based innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire students. She has developed up to 10 educational escape rooms across the different faculties as an active learning tool, which has not only enriched the learning experience for students across the university but has also received multiple institutional, national and international teaching awards.
