The effects of COVID-19 on older Australians are not limited to the virus itself. They also include changes to the support services and living arrangements and some people are struggling to keep up with the changing advice and others my need a friendly voice to help combat the loneliness of isolation.

The Older Persons COVID-19 Support Line provides information. It also provides support and connection for older Australians, the relatives, carers, friends or supporters and its on 1800 171 866. The service is available from 8.30am to 6pm on weekdays eastern standard time and all calls are free.

This is a joint initiative of COTA Australia, Dementia Australia, National Seniors and OPAN, the Older Persons Advocacy Network, and that’s supported by funding from the Australian Government.
